“The most important consideration for all of us is not how long we will live but how well we will live our life” Al Etmanski, Co-Founder of PLAN

What constitutes a good life?

Life for many individuals with disabilities, people say, depends on what kind of programs or services they get, and how good their paid professionals and support workers are. But a good life for people with disabilities is not very different from that for anyone else. “A Good Life” includes:

  • Relationships with people who love and care for them
  • A home that they like to live in
  • Financial dignity
  • Wishes and choices respected
  • Contributions to society

Programs and services should supplement not replace a good life.

To assist families to create a good life for their loved one with a disability and a peace of mind for the families, Here and Now offers the following supports and services:

providing information that is needed for families and people with disabilities, guiding future planning for a good life, supporting to build friend networks, advocating, and strengthening family networking.

Here & Now provides Self-Funded services such as Home Camp and Art Studio and Government-Funded services such as Community Inclusion and Shared-Living service.
