Community Support Worker

As a Community Support Worker, you will develop individualized programs for adults with developmental disabilities, manage various activities and documentation, and support them in improving their life skills and participating in community activities.

Applicants can apply for Casual, Part-time, or Full-time positions. Depending on working hours, there is also the possibility of transitioning to Full-time, based on experience, performance evaluations, and training.

 

1. Qualifications

  • A passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Maintain an ethical Code of Conduct and a proactive attitude.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher, and the use of your own vehicle.

 

2. Work Environment

  • Locations
     – Langley Center (8673 217a Street, Langley)
     – Coquitlam Center (1636 Regan Ave, Coquitlam)
  • Types of Work
     – Group Support : The ratio of supporter to individuals are 1:2 or 1:3, providing support in a group setting.
     – One-on-One Support : One supporter support one individual with programs operated in various locations.
  • Hours of Work
     – Full-time : 30hours/week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
    Part-time : Work up to 4 days a week.
    Casual : No guaranteed hours, work as requested by Here & Now.

Home Share Provider

You will provide support for an adult with developmental disabilities in your own home, including accommodation, meals, and transportation. This is not just a matter of living together but involves welcoming the adult with developmental disabilities as a true member of your family, dedicated to ensuring their happiness and well-being.

 

1. Qualifications

  • A deep love for an individual with developmental disabilities, as you would for your own children or family members.
  • The ability to provide a comfortable and home-like environment where the individual can feel comfortable and secure.
